Has damage been done?
Damaged doors are, of course, the most obvious reason to get new ones. You will want to consider the cost of repairs versus the cost of new doors. However, the damage may be a perfect opportunity to consider new doors if the old ones do not suit your home as well as new ones would.
Do the old ones simply not work as well anymore?
Sometimes, there comes a time when things need to be replaced. It is not always because they’re damaged beyond repair, but they simply do not function the way they should. If your current door is slow to close and open, makes terrible noises, or shakes and rattles, you can look into having it repaired. If the repairs are cheaper, you may be happy to go that route. However, it could also be ample opportunity for you to shop for new doors. Instead of repairing the old ones, get the new ones that you really want.
Do you really want new doors?
Of course, you don’t necessarily need a specific reason. If you can afford new garage doors and you want them, then why not get them? You can increase your home’s curb appeal and possibly its overall value. You can do what you please—get doors made of stronger materials, have them painted, have better machinery, better security, and more.
